Thank you for your generosity and support of the Somerset Elementary School (SES) Foundation! As a 501(c)(3) organization, we’re committed to addressing the critical needs identified by our school principal / staff— we aim to fulfill needs that go beyond Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) can provide with their limited resources.
With your help, we’ve made a significant impact in the past year, funding:
- 1 of 3 new playground structures
- Innovative STEM programming partnership with KID Museum, a local leader in STEM
- The school food pantry and providing grocery cards to students facing food insecurity, including weekends—now expanded to cover holidays and summer months
- Scholarships / financial aid for after-school clubs / Enrichment Academies
- Well-being / mindfulness resources for the school and each classroom
- Disadvantaged schools with braille books, music tools, etc.

For 2024-2025, our main goals aim to enhance mental health support through pet therapy for students / staff as well as much needed teachers’ lounge upgrades. We’ll also explore a new tutoring program to address pandemic learning gaps.
