We’re thrilled to announce the Somerset Elementary School Foundation’s $90,000 investment towards 1 of 3 new playground structures is now a reality.  Our beautiful, new school playground supports community well-being for students, local children and families. Thank you for your donations and support towards this important community investment!!!  A big thank you to our SES school leadership for their hard work to make the installation of the 3 playground structures a big success!  

Where’s my brick?  

If you purchased a brick, please note that we experienced slight delays in the engraving process. Due to the hurricane slightly affecting the engraving facility in Florida, the bricks are currently in progress and will now be installed this Spring!  We’re so thankful for your brick purchase and hope you have had an opportunity see our new, beautiful playground!  We could not have done it without you!!  Stay tuned for an exciting brick installation and viewing event coming in Spring 2025!

Thank you for your generosity and support of the Somerset Elementary School (SES) Foundation! As a 501(c)(3) organization, we’re committed to addressing the critical needs identified by our school principal / staff— we aim to fulfill needs that go beyond Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) can provide with their limited resources.

With your help, we’ve made a significant impact in the past year, funding:

• 1 of 3 new playground structures
• Innovative STEM programming partnership with KID Museum, a local leader in STEM
• The school food pantry and providing grocery cards to students facing food insecurity, including weekends—now expanded to cover holidays and summer months
• Scholarships / financial aid for after-school clubs / Enrichment Academies
• Well-being / mindfulness resources for the school and each classroom
• Disadvantaged schools with braille books, music tools, etc.
•    …..and so much more…….

Brick Fundraiser Extended Deadline!

Ongoing Food Support Initiatives:

• The Foundation is committed to providing essential food support to students and families in need, distributing thousands of dollars annually.
• Thanksgiving & Winter Break Support: Ensuring families have access to nutritious meals during the holiday seasons.
• Summer 2024: Continued food support throughout the summer months, helping families when school is out.

Ongoing Well-Being Student and Staff Development Initiatives:

• The Foundation will be supporting the mental health of students and staff through various upcoming programming
• The Foundation supports continuing education to school staff to support up-to-date learning and quality of our teachers and staff.
